Our Art programs offer introductory and intermediate courses in drawing, painting, digital art, photography, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and design. Through the study of art theory and art practice, students develop an awareness and understanding of the materials, tools, rationale, and significance of art in society. The art curriculum's critical thinking and technical skills components encourage students to utilize independent thought processes and problem solving. Our Art programs provide students with transfer and employment opportunities as well as professional and personal development.
Our Art History programs focus on the history, theory, and research of art products, architecture, and artifacts. Our programs prepare students for further study in the history of art leading to a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and/or Ph.D. in Art History. Art Historians with advanced degrees often become college instructors, museum and gallery directors, curators, or art critics, and can work for public and private collectors.
